Tottenham are reportedly pushing to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes ahead of Manchester United.

The 21-year-old is expected to leave West Ham this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, with several clubs interested.

Man United are understood to be the front-runners, but PSG and Real Madrid are also keen on signing the young Portugal international.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham are now interested in adding him as part of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuild.

De Zerbi is the one pushing to get the deal done with West Ham setting their asking price for Fernandes at £80 million.

Tottenham are also keen on Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali. Manchester City’s interest in the midfielder may make that move tricky, however.
