Today's matches:
Czech Republic 1-1 South Africa (FT)
Mexico 0-0 South Korea (LIVE!)
Key updates:
03:35 CET - Ten minutes plus stoppage time remain in the first half and things remain tense, tight and scoreless in Guadalajara. Mexico have had the bulk of opportunities but are yet to break through a resolute Korean defence led by Bayern Munich's Kim Min-jae.
03:25 CET - We're in the first half hydration break, where Mexico has had the majority of possession and scoring opportunities.

03:20 CET - Kim Seung-gyu made a brilliant falling save to his right to deny a Julian Quinones header. Kim is yet to meet his newborn baby but said he drew strength for this performance from a video call in which he saw the baby awake for the first time.
03:15 CET - Edson Alvarez cleared the ball away with a dramatic goal-line overhead kick after Son Heung-min chipped it over the top of the goalkeeper. He was ruled offside after all that.
03:10 CET - It's a raucous atmosphere at the ground as Mexico register the first two shots (both off-target) of the game. It's 0-0 after ten minutes.
03:01 CET - Kick-off in Guadalajara! Boos from the first second as South Korea assume possession. It's going to be a hostile atmosphere from start to finish for the visitors.
02:55 CET - Whilst the anthems are being sung in Guadalajara, some news from the previous match: Canada head coach Jesse Marsch confirmed at the post-game press conference that midfielder Ismael Kone has been hospitalised with a broken leg. He is currently surrounded by family as he prepares to go into surgery. That is sadly the end of his home World Cup.
02:45 CET - These sides both won their opening group games, meaning the winner of this fixture locks in top spot on the head-to-head tiebreaker. They would earn a big advantage, playing in the Round of 32 against a third-placed side from Group C/E/F/H/I.

02:35 CET - Mexico are without Cesar Montes after he was sent off in the dying minutes of the opening game against South Africa. South Korea are missing Cho Yu-min with a foot injury.
02:25 CET - We send our love to Ismael Kone and congratulations to Canada in general as they celebrate their maiden World Cup finals win as best they can. We do need to move on to the final game of the day where another co-host, Mexico, look to seal top spot of Group A when they host South Korea. The starting lineups are in.

02:15 CET - Our own Josh Donaldson is going to witness a very fascinating press conference from both managers after a heated match that saw two red cards for Qatar, a potentially serious injury for Canadian midfielder Ismael Kone, and a minor scuffle after the final whistle. Canada's players are going to need some major mental recovery after that match, which must have been quite difficult to finish given their beloved teammate left it on a stretcher and with an oxygen mask. Some of Kone's teammates were seen throwing their shirts over their faces as an immediate reaction to what they saw.
02:08 CET - Canada completely dominated from the opening minute and all of the stats below paint the picture.

02:01 CET - A Qatar-strophic day is finally over for the visitors as the full-time whistle puts them out of their misery. What would have been the perfect day for Canada has been soured by what appears to be a serious leg or ankle injury for Ismael Kone, who has been described by many as the heartbeat of the team.
Tensions boiled over between the players after the final whistle with both squads coming together to intervene on the pitch.
Canada completely dominated from the opening minute and all of the stats below paint the picture.
01:52 CET - There were nine minutes of time added on and Canada needed less than two of them to add a sixth goal that has statisticians around the country reaching for national team record books. Jonathan David, Canada's all-time leading goalscorer, has a World Cup hat-trick!
The last time a home player scored a hat-trick at a World Cup was the famous Geoff Hurst in 1966.
01:40 CET - Chants of "we want six!" erupt around BC Place as the Canadians work out how to continue boosting their goal difference. We're almost at the 80-minute mark but there could be at least ten minutes of stoppage time coming owing to the hydration break and the injury delay.
Canadian winger Tajon Buchanan has so far registered more touches in the opposition box (13) than any other player in the game. He's off the pitch now and could be caught by Jonathan David who is pursuing a hat-trick.

01:35 CET - Well that's one way for things to go from bad to worse for Qatar - an own goal through Mohammad Al Mannai makes it 5-0.
As one would expect with an 11 v 9 situation, Canada are just doing whatever they want now. That said, they were doing the same even before Qatar went down to ten let alone nine.
01:30 CET - That fourth goal has certainly restored the joy to BC Place in Vancouver after the mood was brought to ground by that serious injury to Ismael Kone. It's certainly one of the dark days of Qatari football and it could get even uglier after this hydration break.
01:20 CET - 4-0! It's time to party in Vancouver now that Canada have sealed their maiden World Cup finals win with a fourth goal! The substitute Nathan Saliba kisses the inside of the right post with a delightful set piece from outside the box. Saliba went over to the dugout, grabbed Ismael Kone's spare playing shirt and held it aloft to dedicate the goal to him. This win is going to be not just for the nation of Canada but for Kone's sacrifice to the team.
01:20 CET - Play is back underway and that injury has really taken the elation out of the atmosphere at the venue. Things are getting headed on the field as well because of some nasty tackles. Qatar are falling off the rails completely now.
01:15 CET - Ismael Kone has been taken off on a stretcher with what could be a severe leg injury. He was sitting up conscious but with a mask around his mouth delivering oxygen and perhaps a painkiller of some kind. We advise against looking for a replay of the challenge on social media. Kone appeared to have gotten one foot stuck in the turf whilst he was hacked down by Modiba, who immediately had his hands behind his head in great worry.
01:10 CET - We have a significant delay in play as Ismael Kone is down with what looks to be a very serious injury. Qatar's Assim Madibo is almost inconsolable after he made a challenge on Kone to bring him down. There's a solemn quietness around the stadium at the moment and a lot of concerned faces around the crowd. The Canadian players are attempting to assure Madibo who is significantly worried about the potential injury he has caused. There was nothing malicious in the challenge but he has been sent off regardless. Qatar are down to nine.
01:10 CET - Safe to say Qatar won't be attacking too much in this second half. As Canada saunter up to the edge of their box, they have a line of seven defenders in the way, looking to contain any attack.
01:06 CET - A second and third change of the game for Qatar as Ahmed Fathi and Mohammad Al Mannai both come on, whilst Canada have brought on Moise Bombito for the carded Derek Cornelius
00:51 CET - Half-time couldn't come soon enough for Qatar. It's been a barrage of attacks from Canada, they have not let Qatar breathe and they have their rewards, three of them to be exact.
Julen Lopetegui has already gone into damage limitation mode, and they will need to defend better just to keep them afloat in this World Cup.

00:48 CET - It just gets better and better for Canada! Jonathan David has his second of the game, tapping in from point-blank range after Cyle Larin forced goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada into a very good save.
Game, set and match for the home side inside a pumping BC Place.

00:40 CET - Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Qatar coach Julen Lopetegui has sacrificed striker Yusuf Adbusirag for a defensive reinforcement in the shape of Sultan Al Brake.
00:38 CET - Josh Donaldson at BC Place: Confusion turns to joy for the majority of fans inside the stadium with their Canadian side cruising. Qatar have to play the remainder of the game down to 10, giving Canada the perfect chance to run a goal difference that will almost certainly see them qualify today. Tajon Buchanan has been excellent on the wing. He has been tricky, beating defenders almost at will, and very nearly gets his reward, seeing a scuffed effort cleared off the line.
This is a dream scenario for Jesse Marsh's side.

00:34 CET - Red for Qatar! Homam Ahmed brings down Tajon Buchanan on the edge of the box, referee points to the spot and gives him a yellow before VAR intervenes to overturn both decisions. Canada will be happier with the decision, they are two up, a man up and looking good to move one step further to their first-ever win at a World Cup.
00:30 CET - 2-0! Canada had all of the momentum in this first half, as illustrated by the graph below, and they have managed to convert it into two goals inside the first half hour. They controlled the ball, waited patiently, and a Tajon Buchanan blocked shot from outside box fell onto the right foot of Jonathan David to bury it to the right of the goalkeeper.
00:25 CET - Canada take a 1-0 lead into a hydration break that was met with a lot of boos once again.

00:17 CET - CANADA SCORE and BC Place is SHAKING! It all started with a poor corner which was recovered by the Canadians. Alistair Johnson made a run down the right, chipped it to an unmarked Jonathan David in the box who slammed it straight in the direction of the goalkeeper. Cyle Larin was in the right place at the right time to get onto the rebound and punch it home.
00:10 CET - Canada's Derek Cornelius collects the first booking of the game after unintentionally hacking down Akram Afif. The subsequent free kick struck the wall and went out for a corner, which was managed comfortably. There's plenty of vociferous support around the stadium when Canada move forward in response.
00:05 CET - A quick start in Vancouver for the home side, as Jonathan David is already causing problems. Richie Laryea bursts forward down the left, and wants a penalty, but the referee waves it away. Nice tempo from Canada to start this one.
00:00 CET - It's a cauldron of noise inside BC Place, with Flashscore in attendance, and we are underway for a huge game in Group B.
23:09 CET - Up next in Group B in a little under an hour is a clash between co-hosts Canada and Qatar. Both sides drew their opening games, so they will be desperate to pick up three points today.

22:57 CET - There is time for a little more drama, with Switzerland now leading 4-1 after Granit Xhaka tucked home from the penalty spot.
The final whistle has also blown, and that is a convincing win for the Swiss! They go top of Group B with four points, taking control of proceedings. Bosnia, meanwhile, are stuck on just a single point, and will have a lot of work to do in their final game.

22:52 CET - WOW! What a consolation goal for the Bosnians! Ermin Mahmic has thundered home an incredible volley to make it 3-1 with just a couple of minutes left. It is his first goal for his nation - a moment he won't forget despite the score.
22:49 CET - What an impact from Johan Manzambi! The 20-year-old has bagged his second of the game from the bench to put the cherry on the cake for Switzerland, and they are set for a comfortable win over Bosnia!
22:43 CET - That is surely game over now! Another substitute, Ruben Vargas, who has been excellent alongside Johan Manzambi since coming on, has swept home clinically to put Switzerland 2-0 up. Done and dusted!

22:39 CET - Bosnia are in real trouble now. Tarik Muharemovic has been sent off after a cynical foul on Switzerland striker Breel Embolo, who was marauding in on goal. They have a mountain to climb now.
22:33 CET - Finally, finally... we have lift off! Switzerland have got the goal they need, with 20-year-old Johan Manzambi - who came on as a sub just three minutes earlier - volleying home in really composed fashion to give his side the lead!
With 14 minutes left of normal time, they will be looking to see things out and clinch their first win of the tournament.

22:28 CET - The final hydration break has brought a three-minute halt to play, and it remains 0-0. However, Switzerland are certainly trying to up the ante as they hunt a winning goal. Can Bosnia hold them off during the final 25 minutes or so?

22:04 CET - We are back underway for the second half - hoping for some entertaining football!
21:48 CET - Half time in Los Angeles, and it remains goalless. There is not much to speak of at all, with both sides really struggling to get anything going. Bosnia grew into the game as the half went on, but there have been very few chances.

21:23 CET - The first hydration break of the match is here, with the score locked at 0-0. Switzerland have had more of the ball and probed, but have little to show for it.

21:00 CET - We are underway between Switzerland and Bosnia!
20:07 CET - Team news is in for the second game of this evening as Switzerland take on fellow European side Bosnia & Herzegovina in an intriguing clash between two relatively evenly-matched sides.
Bosnia were held to a 1-1 draw by co-hosts Canada in their opening game, whilst Switzerland were stunned late on by Qatar as they also drew 1-1, so just like the game that just finished, three points are vital to both nations this evening.
Check out the lineups for that game below:

20:00 CET - That penalty dispatched by Mokoena would end up earning South Africa a point that, in reality, does little to help either nation. Both Czechia and South Africa are off the board now at least, but the level of performance and tempo of the match for almost the whole 90 minutes will be of great concern to both sides.

19:48 CET - South Africa have levelled from the spot after a brilliantly dispatched penalty by Teboho Mokoena.
Czech Republic just haven't done anything of note since taking the early lead, and you can't say on the balance of play that South Africa didn't deserve to be level.
19:07 CET - Ready for the second half? Ready or not, it is here!
19:00 CET - So far, it is Czechia who have made a positive response from their first matchday setback as they remain 1-0 ahead against South Africa.
It hasn't been all their own way, however, as South Africa have dominated possession and looked dangerous at times.
This one is far from over!

18:08 CET - The much-changed Czech Republic have wasted no time in taking the lead and it's the fastest goal at this World Cup! It was a brilliant goal too after a free-flowing move was finished off with a touch of class by Michal Sadilek, who dinked the ball over the South Africa keeper.

18:05 CET - The first game of the day is underway as South Africa take on Czech Republic!
Follow it LIVE with Flashscore.
17:00 CET - Team news is in from that game as South Africa move to a back four and have made three changes to personnel, as suspended midfielder Yaya Sithole is replaced by Thalente Mbatha and after a poor performance against Mexico, star striker and Burnley man Lyle Foster has been left on the bench.
Czechia have gone even more extreme with their team selection as Miroslav Koubek makes six changes from the side that lost to South Korea, including the omission of Tomas Soucek and star man Pavel Sulc.

16:00 CET - Getting the second round of fixtures started is a fascinating clash between South Africa and the Czech Republic.
South Africa lost the opening game of the World Cup against co-hosts Mexico and were particularly unimpressive in their performance.
Czechia weren't much better, however, after being outclassed by South Korea en route to an opening game defeat. What that does mean is that this game is vital for both nations; a win would get their World Cup campaigns back on track, but a defeat would send them to the brink of an early exit.
All to play for!

13:00 CET - Good afternoon and welcome to day eight at the World Cup and the start of the second round of group stage fixtures. After both countries lost their opening games, the Czech Republic and South Africa return to centre stage this evening in the first of four games.
Defeat for either Czechia or South Africa would be disastrous for their hopes of qualifying, so it is a crucial clash and quite simply a must-win game for both nations.
