Vejle got off to an excellent start in Monday's Superliga clash, but Silkeborg fought back in the second half to claim at least a point in a 1-1 draw.
Tobias Bach put Vejle 1-0 up after just eight minutes, while Tonni Adamsen equalised after 80 minutes.
This gave both Silkeborg and Vejle, who are struggling under the relegation zone in the Superliga, a much-needed point.
Silkeborg are now four points behind promoted FC Fredericia, who are just above the relegation zone, while Vejle are nine points behind their local rivals.
The visitors got off to a dream start in Monday's clash between the relegation candidates, when Lasse Flo made a cheeky move between two opponents on the right side of the pitch after eight minutes.
The defender created plenty of space and time for himself in the box and sent the ball in front of goal, where Tobias Bach easily pushed it over the line for a 1-0 lead for the visitors.
Silkeborg generally lacked movement in their build-up, and Vejle consequently had a very easy time fending off any attacking initiatives from the home side.
In the second half, Vejle seemed happy to just defend their lead while Silkeborg began to look more dangerous, no less thanks to Younes Bakiz, who was introduced after the interval and created much more dynamic play between the compact Vejle defensive lines.
Ten minutes before the end, Silkeborg were rewarded for their efforts when Callum McCowatt served up Tonni Adamsen to ram home the equalizer between the legs of the Vejle keeper Igor Vekic.
Silkeborg and Vejle spent the rest of the game fiercely chasing victory, and the hosts came agonizingly close in the final seconds through an attempt from Bakiz, but Vejle held on for the draw.
