Best Midfielder: Bruno Fernandes vs Sunderland (H) - 6.5 predicted points

For the first time in this campaign, we see someone other than Mohamed Salah topping the midfield prediction standings, with Liverpool’s tricky trip to Chelsea in mind here. Displacing him is Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

It’s been a mixed start to the campaign for him, with just two goals scored and failing to convert from the penalty spot on two occasions. His side have two wins on the board, both coming at home in fixtures Fernandes has scored in, highlighting his influence.

A home game against promoted Sunderland bodes well for his potential output, although the Black Cats have conceded just four goals in this campaign. Fernandes has had a respectable four big chances on goal, ranking second for chances created, with 16.

Midfield Gem: Bukayo Saka vs West Ham (H) - 5.8 predicted points

Arsenal will be the heavy favourites for the visit of West Ham this weekend, although their opponents could be in for a new manager bounce since the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo. The Gunners have four wins, one draw and a loss from their opening four fixtures.

5.6%-owned Bukayo Saka achieves differential status, with a disrupted start to the season due to injury seeing his ownership surprisingly low. He has one goal from four appearances, but could now play a key role with Noni Madueke, out for two months with injury.

Saka’s route to points has dramatically reduced this season, with Declan Rice dominating set pieces, including corners and free kicks. We also expect striker Viktor Gyokeres to be first choice on penalties, having already converted against Leeds United in Gameweek 2.

Best Forward: Erling Haaland vs Brentford (A) - 6.9 predicted points

Erling Haaland is the captain favourite once again for FPL Gameweek 7, after rewarding 3.9 million backers with two goals and one assist last time out in the home game against Burnley. His potential remains high for the trip to Brentford

Haaland’s haul last time out takes him up to nine goal involvements for the campaign: eight goals and one assist. His underlying numbers remain incredibly high, too, with nobody else coming close to his 28 shots and 13 big chances this season.

Manchester City are one of the form teams in the Premier League right now, picking up seven points in their last three games and scoring a leading nine goals in this spell. Brentford will be confident, though, after beating Manchester United 3-1 last time out.

Forward Gem: Ollie Watkins vs Burnley (H) - 6.6 predicted points

A disappointing start to the season, with five successive blanks, has seen Ollie Watkins' ownership dip below 10%, but patience prevailed for many when he got his first goal of the campaign in Villa's 3-1 win against Fulham last time out.

His underlying numbers show some promise that these returns are sustainable, with nine shots and four key passes. There’s potential he has penalties in his locker too, but did miss from the spot in the Europa League last midweek.

A home game against Burnley carries plenty of potential, with their defence a key one to target. They have conceded 13 goals in this campaign, including five away at Manchester City last weekend. They also rank top for shots on their goal conceded, on 116.
