Abigail Kim opened the scoring in the 16th minute, giving Ghana an early advantage in the encounter.
Alice Kusi doubled the Black Queens’ lead eight minutes later, putting the visitors firmly in control.
Ghana continued to dominate and added a third goal in first-half stoppage time when Benedicte Simon produced a stunning long-range effort to make it 3-0.
Mauritius improved after the break and put together a better performance, but they were unable to find a way past the Ghana defence as the Black Queens maintained their clean sheet.
The result gives Ghana a significant three-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.
The Black Queens will host Mauritius at the Sekondi Essipong Sports Stadium in the return fixture on Tuesday, October 13th, with Ghana aiming to complete the job and advance to the next round of the African qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
