The 21-year-old Valente reportedly cost Feyenoord around €7 million after FC Groningen first demanded a fee in the eight figures. According to reports, FC Groningen could receive up to €1.25 million in additional bonuses.
Valente has signed a contract until 2029 in Rotterdam, where he will wear the number 40.
"Finally, it's official. For me – and also for my family – there has only ever been one option from the moment Feyenoord approached me," said Valente on the club website.
"This is where I wanted to come. It took a while, but I'm glad it's finally happened. From the outside, I see Feyenoord as one big family. When I came here as a player wearing a Groningen shirt, I didn't know what to expect at De Kuip, but I'm thrilled that I now get to play in front of those people."
The Italian-Dutch Valente made his professional debut for FC Groningen in August 2022. The Dutch youth international, who started in four games at this year's U21 Euros, has played 94 games for FC Groningen, scoring 10 goals in the process. Last season, Valente scored two goals and provided seven assists in 32 Eredivisie games.
