Danish coach Thomas Thomasberg has been sacked by Polish club Pogon Szczecin. The news is confirmed on the club website.

"Today I have made the difficult decision to dismiss Thomas Thomasberg from his duties as head coach of Pogon Szczecin", says club president Alex Haditaghi.

The Polish media outlet Meczyki writes that the Dane's replacement is already in place.

According to the outlet, Spanish coach Oscar Garcia, who recently coached Ajax, is ready to take over the reins at the Polish club.

Thomas Thomasberg and Pogon Szczecin finished in ninth spot in the top Polish league.  Thomasberg was introduced as the new coach at Pogon at the end of September and was therefore given less than nine months in the position.

In August last year, Thomasberg was sacked by FC Midtjylland, who replaced him with Mike Tullberg. Before that, Thomasberg was a coach at Randers FC for five years.
