The Montreal Canadiens extended their win streak to five games on Sunday with a win over the Hurricanes, while their arch-rival Boston Bruins completed an insane rally to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets in a shootout!

Canadiens 3-1 Hurricanes

After the Canes got out to a 1-0 lead in the first, Montreal would score three unanswered goals in the second en route to their 42nd win on the season.

Nick Suzuki led with his 25th and 26th goals of the season, while Cole Caufield scored his 46th for the Habs.

Carolina fell to 46-21-6 on the season and now sit in second in the Eastern Conference.

Bruins 4-3 Blue Jackets

Columbus got out to a three-goal lead entering the second period, but Boston flipped the switch on them in the second and third, outshooting them 12-5 in each period, respectively.

The Bruins would score twice just under three minutes apart in the third with goals from Charlie McAvoy (11) and Pavel Zacha (27), the latter off the power play. It wouldn't be until 11 seconds left in the third that Zacha scored his second of the game, and 28th on the year, that sent it to OT.

After a scoreless OT, the Bruins got it done in the shootout thanks to goals from Fraser Minten and Viktor Arvidsson as they improved to 42-24-8, while the Blue Jackets dropped to 38-24-12.

Flyers 2-1 Stars

Trevor Zegras played hero after scoring his 23rd goal of the season to give the Flyers an overtime win as they begin to close the gap in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race.

Philly is now in a three-way tie with the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators with 86 points this season, sitting just behind the Blue Jackets (88 points) for the second spot in the Wild Card.

They're one of the hottest teams in hockey right now, winning nine of their last 10 games as they're now on a three-game win streak with a 37-24-12 record. Meanwhile, Dallas has lost five of their last six and fell to 44-18-12.

Devils 5-3 Blackhawks

Much like the Bruins, the Devils rallied with three goals of their own in the third period to take home the win. Jack Hughes finished the game with four points (two goals, two assists) as both teams combined for 71 shots on goal (NJ-40, CHI-31).

New Jersey improved to 38-33-2, while the Blackhawks dropped to 27-34-13.

Lightning 3-2 Predators

Nashville's Filip Forsberg tied things up 2-2 with his 34th goal of the season. But it was Tampa's veteran Corey Perry who'd score almost seven minutes into the third that gave Tampa their sixth win in the past eight games.

The Lightning improved to 46-21-6 and lead the Eastern Conference, while the Preds continue to barely hold on to their spot in the Western Conference Wild Card as they fell to 34-31-9.

Rangers 3-1 Panthers

The Eastern Conference's worst team, and the only one eliminated from the playoffs so far, shut down the Panthers behind Igor Shesterkin's 26 saves.

Both teams went scoreless in the first two periods until the Rangers scored three straight in the third as they improved to 30-35-9 (69 points).

The Panthers, on the other hand, are barely above them in the standings as they now sit at 35-35-3 (73 points).
