After the qualifying session, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri appeared at the press conference in Monaco.

Lando Norris

What it means: "A lot. Not just because it's been a long time. It hasn't always gone well. Being here in a fresher frame of mind is better. It's a great relief. We've worked hard for this."

Confidence: "I was reasonably confident. Charles was fast in every session. But, I made sure my confidence improved during the session. It just gives you comfort when you perform well. Max and Oscar were just as strong."

Several laps before taking pole: "Our plan was to do one set of tyres and then stop and go again. It was a good choice."

Job already done? "I don't know. It'll be a new race tomorrow. I've just been thinking about qualifying."

Best qualifying in months: "There are a lot of risks to take into account in addition to the balance of the car. It's the first time I've managed to do everything since Australia. To do it after a lot of work. Even if I was on pole at every other circuit, this would be the one that counts the most".

Hoping to end a difficult period: "I think I need consistency. It can be positive because I had a good Saturday. It's a step in the right direction. There's still the rest of the weekend to go. I'll be happier if I'm more confident in all the sessions like I was today. After that, we go on to Barcelona and Canada. If I can repeat that, it will be a good goal to achieve".

New state of mind: "Every weekend deserves a new state of mind. You can try and practise. I'm getting better at these things. We're working hard."

No doubts: "I don't think I doubt what I'm doing. I can be dissatisfied, especially if I miss, especially when that's the objective. But I've never doubted what I'm capable of. And today proves that I was right."

Charles Leclerc

Final lap: "It was good but it was a bit complicated in Q3. The first lap didn't really make a difference. I'm disappointed because I'm at home. But I knew I was going to the limit, and I knew it would be tight but that's how it is."

Tomorrow's two-stop: "It's going to be a bit chaotic I think. There will be a lot of strategy games. But I think we might be under pressure from the cars behind us."

Opportunities at the start of the race: "It's difficult to know what to expect. I don't think the first few laps will be decisive. We'll see with the stops. I don't think there will be anything surprising in the top positions, but rather behind. It's going to be interesting.

Confidence from the start: "We thought we were going to fight. But that wasn't the case. I was very confident right from the start. We need to see how we can replicate that. In Miami, for example, we learned. We need to do the same here.

Beating the McLarens: "We're going to try to do the best we can. It's more positive than we expected. We're going to take maximum points and be realistic. Every point counts now. We're going to do everything we can to get them."

Oscar Piastri

His overall pace in Monaco: "I think I'm more comfortable with the car. That wasn't the problem. But I struggled to get back the feeling I had last year. For tomorrow, nobody really knows what to expect."
