Littler announced he had secured his license on Monday, passing with zero faults, having failed his theory test several times previously.
The 18-year-old had been driving to visit his girlfriend when he was alarmed by a freelance photographer who had been tailing him as he was driving.
"On Wednesday, I was driving up to (girlfriend) Faith's and I was getting followed," Littler told Darts Now, recalling the incident.
"I made, like, the latest exit that you could possibly do on a motorway. I came off so late and then so did he.
"I think I did about three U-turns, he did the same, but I was just shaking and nervous."
Reigning world champion Littler also revealed he decided to post a picture of his new BMW online to prevent the photographer from profiting from the situation.
"That's why I posted the car so he couldn't sell his pictures," Litter added.
"I know it's their job, but following me on the motorway, it's dead busy and I was nervous.
"So yeah, that's why I posted the car so he couldn't do anything about it."
Littler is preparing for this weekend's Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton, where he is the title holder.
