After being denied, Meyers officially dropped his trade request to get ready for the 2025 NFL season with his Raiders teammates and coaches.
"I asked (to be traded), they said no," said Meyers as he chuckled. "That's where that stopped. I mean, I'm just going to keep doing my job until something shakes out either way, honestly. I don't know which way it's going to go, but I'll be ready for whatever."
After coming off a career year for the Raiders as their No. 1 wide receiver, posting a personal best 1,027 receiving yards on 87 receptions, along with four touchdowns, Meyers was hoping for the team to extend a new contract offer.
Meyers has no guaranteed money left on his deal but will have a base salary of $10.5 million this season if he remains healthy.
"But you've got to find a way to separate yourself from all the business," said Meyers. "I thought they would see it that way - they don't (...) I ain't tripping."
However, Meyers has every intention of playing with his teammates and new head coach Pete Carroll as they prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 7th.
"At the end of the day, I'm happy to be doing my job with my boys, but I can be happy anywhere."
