04:45 CET - Defending champion Jack Draper earns his best win of 2026 with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Novak Djokovic to become the last player to progress to the quarter-finals of Indian Wells. Despite being broken while serving for the match, the Brit held his nerve in the tiebreak to defeat the five-time winner.
01:45 CET - There is another retiring, as Sonay Kartel was unable to finish her match. That allows Elena Rybakina to progress, with the world number three leading 6-4, 4-3 at the time of the Brit calling it quits.
00:35 CET - It is a straights sets win for world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who defeats Casper Ruud 6-1, 7-6 (2) to make the quarter-finals at Indian Wells. Despite a much more spirited battle from the Norwegian in the second set, he was still no match for the two-time champion, who is now 15-0 to start 2026.
23:50 CET - Elina Svitolina has advanced to the Indian Wells quarter-finals after her opponent, Katerina Siniakova, unfortunately had to retire when trailing 6-1, 1-1 with what looked like a hip injury.
She will now face Iga Swiatek in the last eight, with the Pole having won their last three matches and leading the head-to-head 4-1.
22:39 CET - Jessica Pegula has claimed her first-ever victory over Belinda Bencic, fending off a late surge from the Swiss player to win 6-3, 7-6(5) in an hour and 49 minutes.
Looking on course for a quick victory, Bencic broke back while Pegula was serving for the match at 5-4 in the second set. However, the American regathered herself to claim the win.
It is her 22nd quarter-final appearance at a WTA 1000 event and her second at Indian Wells, extending her winning streak to eight games. She is in some form.
Daniil Medvedev was also in imperious touch as he swatted aside Alex Michelsen 6-2, 6-4, and awaits Novak Djokovic or Jack Draper in the last eight.
Looking to be more front-footed and aggressive this season, the two-time finalist hit 34 winners, and he is in the quarters for a fourth year in a row.
20:45 CET - Jessica Pegula and Daniil Medvedev are taking to court next, as both players look to follow up title triumphs in Dubai with a deep run here.
20:34 CET - Two-time champion Iga Swiatek has delivered a statement win in Indian Wells, showcasing her skills in the desert conditions to crush Karolina Muchova, 6-2, 6-0, thus ending the Czech's eight-match winning streak.
The Pole has been so dominant in this competition, which is emphasied by the fact that, according to Opta, only Serena Williams (27) has claimed 25 wins at Indian Wells in fewer matches than her (28) since the tournament’s inception in 1989!
She will face the winner of Elina Svitolina and Katerina Siniakova in the quarter-finals.
20:30 CET - At the site of his one and only Masters 1000 title, Cameron Norrie has returned to the quarter-finals of Indian Wells after claiming a 6-4, 6-2 win over qualifier Rinky Hijikata.
The Brit clearly loves California, demonstrated by the fact that it is his fourth appearance in the last eight of this tournament. He will now face either Carlos Alcaraz or Casper Ruud next.
18:52 CET - Play is set to get underway at Indian Wells in a few minutes, and you can follow the first two matches below:
Iga Swiatek - Karolina Muchova
Cameron Norrie - Rinky Hijikata
17:00 CET - The quarter-finals at Indian Wells are just around the corner, but there are still a few places up for grabs as several of the world's finest players look to progress in California.
Play gets underway at 19:00 CET, as two-time champion Iga Swiatek meets recent Doha victor Karolina Muchova in what has the potential to be a really attractive encounter.
Swiatek leads the head-to-head 4-1, having won their last four meeting, including a 6-1, 6-1 thumping here at Indian Wells in 2025. However, Muchova is in great form, while Swiatek is not the force she once was, so this could be a lot more competitive.

Dubai champion Jessica Pegula then meets Belinda Bencic, and the American will be looking for the key to triumph over the Swiss star. They have met four times before, with Bencic winning in straight sets on every occasion.
Later tonight, Elina Svitolina will attempt to continue her fabulous start to the season against Mirra Andreeva's conqueror, Katerina Siniakova, while Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina will face the challenge of surprise package, Sonay Kartal.
On the men's side, proceedings begin with a match-up no one would have expected, as Cameron Norrie meets Rinky Hijikata, after they beat Alex De Minaur and Alexander Bublik, respectively, to get here.
Daniil Medvedev has reached the final twice before at Indian Wells, and he will have to overcome Alex Michelsen in order to reach the last eight.
World number one Carlos Alcaraz - who has won the title twice - clashes with Casper Ruud, as he aims to extend his unbeaten start to 2026. Alcaraz loves these conditions and is the big favourite to triumph in the desert again.
The big match of the day takes place during the night session, as five-time champion and the man who keeps defying Father Time, Novak Djokovic, comes up against defending champion Jack Draper.
Draper is making his return from a lengthy and serious injury layoff and faces a huge test against the Serbian legend. However, Djokovic hasn't looked at his best this tournament, and conditions seem to favour the Brit more.
