World Handballer of the Year, Mathias Gidsel, says in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, that he has a dream of playing for FC Barcelona in the future.

Mathias Gidsel is happy playing for Füchse Berlin who, partly thanks to his services won the German Bundesliga title for the first time in history and qualified for the Champions League final where they lost to Magdeburg.

But there is still one club in the world, that could tempt him to leave the German champions....FC Barcelona.

"For me, Barcelona has always been the biggest club in the world", says Mathias Gidsel.

"There is so much greatness and history associated with that logo. Spain is an incredible country, and Barcelona is an incredible club. I hope that one day in the future I can play for Barcelona."

Gidsel, who led Denmark Denmark to their third successive World Championship title in January, however, underlines that currently it is "fantastic to be in the Bundesliga and play in sold-out arenas" says the Danish leading scorer and silver medalist in the Champions League.

But still the dream of one day joining the Catalan giants lingers in the back of his head.

"When you see the Barcelona players with that logo, you always dream of playing there", says Mathias Gidsel.
