Denmark will be represented by the women's curling team at next year's Winter Olympics in Northern Italy.
The Danish Curling Association confirmed on Friday in a press release that the Danish women have booked their ticket for the Games.
The qualification was already secured before Denmark played their last match at the World Cup in South Korea against Switzerland, which began on Friday at 11.00 CET.
The Danish team consisting of skipper Madeleine Dupont, Denise Dupont, Mathilde Halse and My Larsen and reserve Jasmin Holtermann from the start of the tournament made no secret of the fact that the goal was to secure access to the Olympics.
Skipper Madeleine Dupont will compete in her 31st tournament for Denmark at the World Cup. She has been to the Olympics three times previosly.
The qualification for the Winter Olympics depended on the overall results from the previous World Cup and the ongoing World Cup, and here Denmark were able to secure their ticket between the ten participating countries in Italy despite the fact that Denmark did not manage to finish between the best six nations at the ongoing World Cup.
The Winter Olympics take place from 6 to 22 February next year. The curling tournament will be played at the Cortina Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
