The result sees Sweden finish their group campaign with seven wins and two defeats from their nine matches, while China, with two victories, were eliminated before a stone was thrown this evening.
Sweden's two losses had come in their previous two matches, but they stamped down a marker in this one, as after a blanked opening end, Anna Hasselborg played a simple take-out to take two in the second, before a misjudged draw in the third from Wang Rui allowed the Swedes to steal two.
But hopes of a cruise to victory were in doubt after the fourth end, as Sweden left China a free shot at their stone in the centre of the house, and this time Wang made no mistake to take three and reduce the deficit to 4-3.
Sweden took one in the fifth, before another poor final stone in the sixth meant for a steal of one more in the sixth. The Chinese cut the gap back to 6-4 in the seventh end, before Sweden sealed victory with two ends to spare.
Hasselborg perfectly lined-up a high-risk double take-out, removing two Chinese stones to leave Sweden lying three and 9-4 ahead. China had taken enough punishment and chose not to play on.
Switzerland can still draw level with Sweden on a 7-2 record, but Sweden are guaranteed a top two finish ahead of the semi-finals, the full line-up of which will be known on Thursday.
