Tuesday, October 13th
23:18 CET - And, breathe.
What a night of football that was across the continent, with goals galore and two big upsets.
The fun's not over yet, either, with more action on the way tomorrow, and we'll be back here to cover it all. See you then!
23:08 CET - Galatasaray looked as if they were going to pull off an upset of their own at one point, but Barcelona pulled off a comeback to claim a 4-1 win.
Fellow LaLiga side Atletico Madrid also claimed all three points, piling the misery on Michael Carrick and his out-of-form Man Utd side, while Arsenal, Villarreal and RB Leipzig all won on home turf against Lille, Napoli and PSV respectively.

23:02 CET - Viking weren't the only underdogs to enjoy a night to remember, with Club Brugge going one better by claiming a thrilling 4-3 win away to Italian champions Inter.
Young German striker Nicolo Tresoldi was the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick to continue his stunning start to the season.

22:57 CET - That's a wrap on a dramatic night of Champions League football, and the big story is that Viking have claimed a late draw against German giants Bayern!
The fairytale looked to have been nipped in the bud when Bayern fought back from 2-0 down to lead, but the Norwegians kept their heads up and ultimately snatched a famous point.

22:50 CET - VIKING EQUALISE AT THE DEATH!
A red card for Michael Olise allowed the underdogs to apply some late pressure, and they've made it count! Herman Haugen has scored to surely seal a famous draw!
22:35 CET - Tresoldi bags a hat-trick! The Club Brugge striker has made it 3-1 at the San Siro to surely give his side a famous win!
Tresoldi now has as many goals in the CL (four) as he did in the whole campaign last year.
22:31 CET - And there's the third goal from Bayern, with Luis Diaz completing the turnaround in Norway after a stunning ball from Kane, who has once again been in inspired form tonight.
22:27 CET - Last year's runners-up have finally broken the deadlock at the Emirates, with Jurrien Timber and Eberechi Eze putting Arsenal on the path to victory.

22:23 CET - Viking's hopes of claiming a famous win are slipping away, with a quickfire double from Harry Kane drawing Bayern level.
There's still hope of one big upset, though, with Club Brugge now leading Inter 2-1.
22:15 CET - Barcelona have made a flying start to the second half in Istanbul, with goals from Fermin Lopez and Anthony Gordon - both set up by Lamine Yamal - giving them a commanding lead.

21:45 CET - Time to cool off on the fairytales; two of the giants are back in the game. Barcelona have levelled against Galatasaray thanks to Joao Cancelo, whilst Lautaro Martinez has answered back for Inter at the expense of Club Brugge.

That brings an end to a memorable first half across the continent - let's catch you up.
Atletico Madrid nearly made it 2-0 before the break, only for VAR to intervene and rule out Johnny Cardoso's effort for handball, leaving the LaLiga side 1-0 up against Manchester United.
Arsenal remain goalless against Lille, whilst the only other game without a goal is RB Leipzig and PSV, but the Dutch side have missed from the spot in the first half.
Viking are stunning Bayern at home, as they lead 2-0 at the break, whilst Villarreal are 2-1 up against Napoli, in part because of Santiago Mourino's wonder strike.

21:39 CET - This is turning into a special Champions League night! On the counter, Viking rip Bayern apart, and Peter Christiansen nets his 14th goal of the season to double their lead! Incredible scenes as they bounce in the stands in Norway.

21:35 CET - Make that 2-0 to Galatasaray! It's rocking in Istanbul, as the Turkish side double their advantage through talisman Victor Osimhen after he heads in a teasing corner. Or not, put those fireworks away for now, it's been ruled out for offside...
21:31 CET - Club Brugge's main man, Nicolo Tresoldi, has netted from the spot to put the Belgian side 1-0 up at San Siro against Inter. It's the German's second goal in as many Champions League games this season, and he looks good to beat his mark of four from last year.
This could be an evening of shocks in the Champions League - Galatasaray have taken the lead against Barcelona through Alexey Batrakov.
21:27 CET - Make that 2-1 to Villarreal! They have taken the lead against Napoli with Santiago Mourino getting on the scoresheet.
It's a beauty of a strike from the right-back as he rifles into the top corner from all of 25 yards!
21:25 CET - As Lille see a goal chalked off for a strange offside call, which is right, Villarreal are back level against Napoli through Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze - his first goal in the competition this campaign.
21:11 CET - It's been a bright start from Napoli at Villarreal, and they have their reward with Amir Rrahmani netting inside 10 minutes, showing quick reactions to spin and shoot after hitting the bar with a header.
21:01 CET - An emotional Wanda Metropolitano is jubilant inside a minute, as Pablo Barrios gives them the lead against Manchester United with a silky side-footed finish.

Meanwhile, it's lift-off in Norway! Viking have taken a 1-0 lead against German giants Bayern, thanks to defender Gianni Stensness.
What a start!
21:00 CET - Underway in our late games on this Tuesday night - let's see what drama is produced!
20:45 CET - Another Italian side in action tonight is Inter, who face Club Brugge.
Our European football expert, Antonio Moschella, has taken a closer look at the Belgian side, who punched above their weight last season.

20:37 CET - History for Sabah Baku! They have scored their first goals, and now they have their first-ever win in the Champions League thanks to a 2-0 victory over Slavia Prague. Goals from Kaheem Parris and Joy-Lance Mickels, helped by some truly poor defending, have seen them over the line. A shout-out to their goalkeeper, Stas Pokatilov, who made six saves in the game.

Elsewhere, Sporting CP also came through to win, beating Lens 2-0.
20:26 CET - After recent surgery on his heart, Scott McTominay makes his first start back for Napoli, in what is a huge boost for Max Allegri's men as they take on Villarreal from 21:00 CET.
He starts alongside fellow Scot Billy Gilmour in midfield, whilst Kevin De Bruyne will be in front of them.
Read more about the Belgian's redemption arc now.

20:22 CET - Sporting CP look to be heading to all three points in France, as they take a 2-0 lead against Lens.
Issa Doumbia has his first goal for the club after a sensational through ball from Silas Andersen.
20:14 CET - Viking make their own slice of Champions League history this evening as they welcome Bayern Munich for their first-ever home tie in the League Phase.
Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz all start for the Bavarians, whilst the Norwegian side's biggest threat - Peter Christiansen - starts on the right wing. He has 13 goals in all competitions this season.

20:01 CET - The other Premier League side in action tonight is Arsenal, who face up against French side Lille, looking to make it two wins from two in the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta has rotated his side, with Mikel Merino, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze all coming in for starts, whilst the Ligue 1 outfit have former Gunner, Olivier Giroud on the bench. If he does get on the pitch tonight, expect a rapturous reception.

Meanwhile, history is brewing in Baku as we near the hour mark. Sabah have the lead after a tidy finish from Kaheem Parris to lead 1-0 against Slavia Prague. The Azeri side are living dangerously, as the Czech side continue to pepper the goal without any reward. If they can hold on, it will be their maiden win in the competition.
19:53 CET - Over to Istanbul, where Galatasaray take on Barcelona in what feels like a uniquely Champions League match-up.
After resting over the weekend, Victor Osimhen comes back into the starting lineup for the Turkish side, whilst Hansi Flick has gone strong with Lamine Yamal and Anthony Gordon in from the start, but Raphinha misses out with a muscle injury.

19:47 CET - With the second halves underway in northern France and in Baku, let's bring you some team news from around the rest of Europe.
In Madrid, Atletico take on Manchester United, where Koke is missing from the matchday squad after it was announced earlier today that his mother had passed away.
Julian Alvarez starts for Atleti, whilst Michael Carrick has rung the changes - five in all - from his side's 1-1 draw against Tottenham at the weekend.
Ayden Heaven comes in to replace Harry Maguire, whilst Marcus Rashford, Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos all get the nod.

19:32 CET - Half-time across the two games, and it remains goalless between Sabah and Slavia, despite good chances for both sides. The best has fallen to Tomas Chory, but the Czech striker scuffed his first effort before his second was blocked on the line. The Azeri side have looked shaky in possession when playing out from the back, but Rwanda international Joy-Lance Mickels has looked a threat when given space to run.

Sporting, meanwhile, lead Lens 1-0 through that effort from Luiz Suarez.
19:09 CET - Lens have paid for their earlier wastefulness as they fall a goal behind to Sporting CP.
Colombian striker Luis Suarez has the opener - he nips in at the near post to poke it home in the 22nd minute.
19:00 CET - Lens are in total control against Sporting CP. They have racked up an xG of 0.84, and created one big chance so far, whilst their Portuguese opponents have yet to register a shot in anger. If you're the French side, you will want to strike whilst the iron is hot.
Meanwhile, Sabah have had the ball in the net through Jamaica international Kaheem Parris, but VAR has ruled the goal out for offside in the build-up. A let-off for Slavia.
18:45 CET - We are underway in our two openers, ahead of a main course later. Here we go!
18:35 CET - Just under 10 minutes to go until our first two games of matchday two, and it's a huge night for Sabah Baku. They are playing their first-ever home game in the competition, and have a winnable tie against Slavia Prague.
Both sides lost their opener, and will be looking to bounce back tonight.

17:38 CET - As kick-off approaches for the two early kick-offs, team news is in for both matches! Florian Thauvin has made a brilliant start to the season and the veteran winger headlines Lens' starting XI.
As for Sporting CP, star striker Luis Suarez leads the line after scoring against Galatasaray in matchday one and like Thauvin, after a red-hot start to the campaign.

As already mentioned, Lens are hosting Sporting CP in a match between two sides doing better in Europe than domestically so far this season (although Sporting do remain unbeaten in Portugal). And in the other early match, Sabah Baku host their first Champions League match after being thrashed by Man United in matchday one and their visitors are Slavia Prague.
