The 37-year-old Finn, a veteran of 265 Grands Prix and winner of 10, told reporters he had been surprised by rumours that he is likely to be replaced in 2027 by American Colton Herta.
He spoke out after finishing 15th in opening practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, where Herta was 20th in the second Cadillac, as he stood in for Sergio Perez, and completed 31 laps to ensure he qualified for a super-licence.
"I'm surprised at the amount of noise because I know what my situation is," said Bottas, formerly with Williams, Mercedes and Sauber.
"And all I've heard is that the team has been happy with what I've done.
"At the same time, we know how this sport works and especially now everyone wants to be in Formula One."
He explained that he had a multi-year contract and this season, the team's maiden year, he had been following instructions.
"That was always the deal," he said. "So, it would be very odd if they questioned my performances so that's why I don't think anything is going to change."
Cadillac are currently 11th and last in constructors' championship standings without having scored a point.
The team has already confirmed Bottas's team-mate Perez for next year and given him a contract extension.
