Antonsen otherwise had a fine start to the first set where he led 3-0 and 8-6.
But the Thai, who benefited from the immense support of the home crowd, came back strongly and ended up winning the opening set by five points.
Antonsen, who has not yet won a tournament this year, fared much better in the second set and built up a 15-10 lead.
At that point, the world champion seemed tired and a little resigned, and Antonsen took advantage of the momentum to level the set at 1-1.
In the third set, Vitidsarn managed to return everything that Antonsen threw at him, and Dane seemed disilluioned and couldn't find solutions for Vitidsarn's impressive defensive actions. After Antonsen had won the first point of the third set, the home favorite recorded ten succesive points and took a commanding 10-1 lead.
A net roller stopped the bleeding, but the Thai's lead was too extensive for Antonsen to haul in.
Although Antonsen reduced the gap, Vitidsarn was at his best and delivered several quirky punches that were difficult to read.
Vitidsarn pulled away further towards the end and took a whopping 18-8 lead and despite Antonsen showing glimpses of his enormous repertoire, Vitidsarn took the title in front of the passionate crowd.
