The Minnesota Vikings signed safety Josh Metellus (27) to a three-year, $36 million extension on Saturday that'll keep him on the team through 2028.

Metellus has been a notable standout for the Vikings' secondary the past two years and the team has taken notice.

"I'm here, baby. I genuinely love it here. This place is home for me," said Metellus.

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Metellus is coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 100 tackles, five pass deflections, and an interception.

The five-year vet out of Florida led the entire league among safeties (out of 171) last year in both quarterback pressures (18) and receptions allowed (57). His 86 solo tackles ranked seventh among safeties, while his 84.3 run-defence grade ranked 10th.
