The surprising move comes after the New York Giants ranked eighth in pass defence this past season, giving up just 210.6 yards per game through the air. However, the secondary only managed five interceptions this past season, which ranked 31st in the league.
Treier and Henderson both spent five seasons with the Giants handling multiple roles involving the team's secondary unit.
Henderson has plenty of experience coaching in the league. Previous teams include the New York Jets (2007-2008), Cleveland Browns (2009-11), Dallas Cowboys (2012-15), and Atlanta Falcons (2016-19). Meanwhile, Treier's five years in the league were all with the Giants.
The Giants finished the year 3-14 have the number three overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
