Several reports confirmed that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has signed a one-year contract extension after a strong performance in 2025.

The extension means the Rams now have Stafford's services through the 2027 season. According to reports, the 38-year-old's new deal is worth about $55 million, and could go up to as high as $60 depending on bonuses.

There were questions about Stafford's future after the team brought in Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson as their opening draft pick, and the 13th overall.

Last year's Most Valuable Player in the NFL threw a career-high 46 touchdown passes and 4,707 passing yards in a 2025 season where the Rams finished 12-5 and made the NFL Championship game.

They were beaten away to the eventual Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks in the all-NFC West showdown.
