Brentford v Liverpool (25/10/2025)

An inconsistent Brentford host a Liverpool side that will hope to have rediscovered their mojo after an emphatic midweek win.

Match News and Current Form

Brentford’s trend of alternating results in each Premier League outing this season continued, as they followed up their 1-0 loss at home to Manchester City with an impressive 2-0 win at West Ham United last time out. The Bees now are now looking for successive league wins for the first time since May, and manager Keith Andrews should have all the intel needed considering he has four ex-Liverpool players, including former captain Jordan Henderson, in his ranks.

Liverpool’s four-game losing streak was brought to a halt in emphatic fashion, as Arne Slot’s men ran riot in beating Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Alarm bells will still be ringing though having lost their last three Premier League games, most recently being beaten by arch-rivals Manchester United last week. The threat of losing four in succession for the first time since February 2021 could be weighing heavily considering that the Reds have lost their last four top-flights trips to London - they last lost five in a row in the capital in 1970!

Head-to-Head History

Liverpool have a strong recent record against Brentford, winning the last five H2Hs by a combined score of 12-1. The Reds have also scored at least once in all eight of their Premier League H2Hs.

Hot Stats and Streaks

The half-time result has been repeated at full-time in Brentford’s last four matches.

Five of Brentford’s last seven home Premier League games have produced over 2.5 goals.

Liverpool have lost each of their last three Premier League games thanks to goals scored in the final 10 minutes of games, after equalising in each match.

Liverpool are the only side yet to draw a Premier League game this season, and haven’t drawn any of their last nine away matches (W4, L5).

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Brentford’s Igor Thiago has already scored six goals this season, and netted the match opener in his last three scoring appearances. In equally fine form is Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, who has tallied eight goal contributions across his last five appearances for club and country (G6, A2), with six of those coming in away games (G4, A2).

Aaron Hickey may return after a recent spell on the sidelines. Liverpool will have to wait and see if Ryan Gravenberch is fit after sitting out against Frankfurt, while Jeremie Frimpong and Alexander Isak are doubtful after picking up injuries in midweek.

Betting Analysis

The Reds will hope to back up their midweek win but have not kept a clean sheet in eight games, so backing Liverpool to win while also conceding seems a likely outcome.
